Please join US Green Building Council – St. Louis Chapter on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at The Soulard Preservation Hall for the second annual Growing Green Awards as we recognize the quiet leaders and the innovators in building a more sustainable St. Louis. The U.S. Green Building Council – St. Louis Regional Chapter is a non-profit, membership organization that advocates for and provides education and training around sustainable building practices & principals. Members include leaders in the region’s sustainable building efforts. "Last year at this time there were 27 commercial and a handful of residential LEED certified projects in the St. Louis region. Today there are 45 commerical and 31 residential certified projects. Our 2009 award winners and nominees are behind those projects and we look forward to celebrating their excellence in green building again in 2010," says Emily Andrews, USGBC-STL Executive Director.
The Growing Green Awards will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at The Soulard Preservation Hall (1921 South 9th Street, St. Louis, MO 63104-3931) beginning at 6:00 p.m. From the use of reused and recycled resources for the award plaques to the food and beverages, Rachel and the planning committee have kept sustainably in the forefront. The Growing Green Awards will recognize individuals, companies or organizations in the following seven categories: (1) Home Builder; (2) Corporate; (3) Government; (4) Educator; (5) Innovator; (6) Quietly Green; and (7) Non-Profit (new this year).
